Paper Textures & Natural Ink
February 21st 2026 - 2 PM I $20 per child
Before markers and paint, people used plants to create color.
In this hands-on winter workshop, children will explore natural plant-based inks and discover how different paper textures change the way color looks and behaves. Participants will experiment, observe, and create their own nature-inspired artwork using botanical materials.
This calm, creative experience blends art, science, and nature learning—perfect for February.
• Natural inks made from beet, turmeric, hibiscus/butterfly pea, and spirulina
• How roots, flowers, and plants create different colors
• How paper texture affects ink absorption and appearance
• Simple nature-printing techniques using leaves and herbs

Through guided discussion and creative play, children will explore basic mushroom parts—such as the cap, stem, and gills—while translating what they learn into a clay sculpture. This workshop supports curiosity, fine motor skills, and nature-based learning in an engaging, age-appropriate way.
Kids will:
• Learn the basic anatomy of a mushroom
• Sculpt mushroom forms using clay
• Explore texture, shape, and detail
• Create a finished piece to take home
No prior experience needed—just curiosity and creativity! Ideal for young learners who enjoy hands-on art and nature exploration.
